God gave Adam and Eve free will; they could choose whether to obey him or disobey him by eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. By eating from the tree, Adam and Eve were choosing to be "like God." It is a sin to try to make yourself equal to God. In fact, that's the reason Satan was cast out of heaven. Satan has no say in whether or not man can choose whatever he wants. God, who has authority over everything in the universe, granted man free will. If he didn't, no angel (meaning Lucifer) would have the power to give a man free will. Indeed, God has authority over Satan, but he allows him to do what he does because Satan is the "prince of this world," and it is only by the fallen nature of man that he has any rule at all.

Wolfman: i don't purely like the e book of interest. i do in comparison to something it teaches. call me a heretic however the e book of interest is rubbish. God is all understanding. God knows each little thing. whilst the devil challenged God to make a screw up interest's life as a try of religion, God already knew interest does not forsake him. Do you think of God might have taken the devil up if he knew interest might forsake God? that could purely instruct the devil marvelous and supply the devil a great form of ammo to apply on others against God. So the lesson to be discovered from interest is do not wager with God while you are the devil because of the fact God won't make a gamble God can lose. Now, as for misfortune in the life of sturdy human beings. i would be unable to describe that. yet I do have self belief all of it takes place for reasons which would be printed. as an occasion, a competent and loving couple loses somewhat one to crib dying. Why might God enable any such difficulty? nicely..maybe that tiny infant will advance as much as be a serial killer or yet another Hitler. Who knows. i comprehend that's a rotten difficulty to assert. yet how do any human beings comprehend? As for the devil having loose reign in the international, that's balanced out with the aid of all people having loose will. The devil can tempt me all he needs. yet i'm not paying for it. If no one engaged the darker nature of Evil, then it is not appropriate what the devil does or if God destroys him. We with the aid of loose will can wreck the flexibility of evil with the aid of not giving in. that is form of like grant and demand. If no one is paying for Evil then Evil is valueless.

God gave us free will from the start. Eating from the forbidden tree(of knowledge) just helped Adam and Eve to have the knowledge that they were naked and needed to be covered. Eve used her free will to pick the fruit even though she wasn't supposed to.

God gave man the ability to have freewill.
satan only made an offer to rebel against God.
Kind of like a "dealer" offering you a deal on something to help you feel better. You decide Y/N.

If they didn't already have free will they could not have freely chosen to accept what the devil offered them. They knew what God had required of them and that's all they needed to know. It's also all we need to know.

The Devil never did have free will .IT/He only knows how to lie. He/It does and only knows evil only. Read on Genesis. Remember the part He/It says YOU WILL BE LIKE GOD........ Hope I answer your question.

I'd say neither - because I credit neither for human consciousness. So we've only ourselves to blame. Confronting that might make us take responsibility for what we do, observe the consequences, and mend our ways. Fat chance, while there's someone or something else available to blame.

yes they were told by God not to eat the fruit they did and felt guilty as soon as they desobeyed the Lord. when we sin we know it because of the law but there are things which are against nature and we know it right away

Wouldn't the notion of the devil giving us free will fly in the face of "The devil MADE me do it?"

That would be the only deity in Christian mythology insane enough to grant such power to humans.
