The Marine Corps will train Marines for a MOS (military occupational specialty) that can serve them a lifetime - both in the service and in the years after.
HOWEVER, every Marine's primary MOS is 0311 - combat infantryman.
That said, your boyfriend will go to boot camp, advanced infantry training, and then be sent to school. None of that precludes him from being assigned to combat.

Yes, where do you think those computers are? Humvees have communication and computer systems too. If he wants to be a Marine he is tough. Are you tough enough to stand by him or should you find a civilian boyfriend now before you break his heart when you bail on him later when you learn the whole picture? The military isn't for everybody. If you don't think you have it in you, tell him now before he gets to into you.

There is a possibility that any one in the military can go to a combat zone. I just ask, that you support him if he is deployed and don't be like some military wives and girl friends do and drop them. Stick with him. It may get tough, but if you stick it out and stand by your man, your relationship will be very strong.

EVERYBODY has the chance to see combat. no such thing as a front line any more. you don't have to go looking for it, it will find you.
every single jobn in the military has some sort of danger potential built in.
that being said, your BF statistically has a better chance of being kille dina car accident five miles from home than he does of being killed in combat.

He is joining THE MARINES! There's always a possibility of being in combat. He knows it and you should be proud of him.
I hope he is not one of those, who joins for the benefits only.

Every branch of the service has the chance of going to war, and every job in the services has that chance as well, you never know, it all depends on what type of unit he is in and what they are looking for overseas.
I know the Army is looking for specific jobs- the top 10 or whatever, if you have one of them you could (specify- COULD) be pulled for deployment outside of your unit.

My bro-in-law worked on compoopers when he was a Marine. He still went to combat. And you're still a douche bag cause you don't want him to be a Marine.

umm most likley
as a marine myself, all jobs and areas of the corps usually go into combat. if hes doing computers then he will most likley be put into air craft missles(smart missles) and scedule their landings an targets.
marines = first to fight.
good luck to him.

You will definitely have to be tough to stand by a military man. I am a military wife and its tough at times. Like everyone on here has said, he probably will have to go , so be prepared. You have a long and lonely road ahead of you. good luck, if you really love him , you ll stand by him.
