I am so sorry for your pain can I pray or just talk with you I am a very good listener (and I know you are) You know the simplest flowers when they grow out of the concrete look so much more beautiful than when they are in a garden with the rest of the flowers, where there is more than two in agreement you can bind something on earth and it is bound in heaven also, If you are going to suffer it is better to suffer for doing good A friend does not always have a nice quote but they do always have a smile and a hug and a heart God Bless You and may your journey in the light shine on others

Colossians 3: 23; Galatians 5: 21, 22; James 1: 27; Matthew Chapters five and six... 1 Thessalonians 5: 17-21; Psalms 37: 11, 29; Revelations 21: 3, 4.
He can say it all so much better than I can... I'd encourage them to read the only book on earth claiming divine inspiration as it is nothing more or less than a great letter from our heavenly Father who will more than make it up to all of us real soon... No one better than Him as He is Love, Wisdom, Power and Justice personified, can do this better than He can... and in this book, The Holy Bible, He shows us how. May the peace of God that excels all thought be with you and them, now and forever, in the name of Jesus, amen.

Offer to watch their kids.
Buy them some groceries and leave them on their doorstep when you know they are there, and ring doorbell and run.
If they run a business(maybe the husband fixes comps) from their home give them some business and pay a more than what they asked but don't tell them why you are paying more. If it is around a holiday tell them you know how the holidays get.
Be their Christian friend and love them.

I would say, and I'm paraphrasing here, that these light and momentary afflictions are not even the slightest bit comparable to the riches, joy, love, and glory that has been prepared for those who are in Christ Jesus. All of this will end for us one day, and when it does, these trying times will be a distant memory.

Just let them know that the love of Christ is leading you to pray for them. When they know that you are praying for them, they will certainly feel it in the Spirit.
Intercessory prayer is powerful and part of our commitment to love Christ and one another.
May God continue His healing touch on you and your family during this trial! Oh Lord You are Mighty! You are the one true physician! Have Your way Jesus! Do Your Will!
In Jesus' Name...

Buy lunch for your friend, and maybe you can bring up the topic that is bothering them without sounding like your going to sound like their mother. Tell your friend that you will never leave them when they need you the most. Making yourself available is the best gift a friend could ever give.

Psalms 139:17-18
17how precious are your thoughts about me, O God!
they are innumerable!
18i can't even count them;
They outnumber the grains of sand!
in a nother words tell them they are wanted by not only yourself but by there holy father. make sure they are reasured that you and your holy father will help them through these hard times and that if they need anything to ask either of you for help.

Tell them to bring their troubles to God. It is promised that He will comfort them. As far as what you can do...just be a friend...and listen...and pray for them also. If there is something material that you are able to do..whether it be a visit or an e mail or whatever...take the time to do it.

Romans8: 38-39 for i am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come(39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us form the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of he servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of, me saith the Lord.
