Specifically, the word "prayer" is found approx. 114 times depending on the version you're reading. The word "pray" is found over 300 times. However, it is mostly used in the sense of "I pray thee to go hither...", or in essence "I beg of you....". So, that count is not accurate if you are only looking to find "pray" in the sense of speaking to the Father.

It is mentioned more than 100 times, in the King James Version.
Here are only a few
2CH 33:19
His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sins, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
NE 1:6
Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.

a search on my electronic KJV says 107 verses found, 114 hits (so it appears more than once in a couple of verses).
