I'm sure you're not stupid, you just weren't taught this part. The Jews were, and are waiting for a messiah that is a political leader as prophesied in Isaiah. He told of a Messiah who is a prince of peace and the government will be upon his shoulders. When Jesus came on the scene, they didn't understand that Isaiah also prophesied about a suffering servant. The first time Jesus came to earth, he was the suffering servant. The second time he comes it will be as the King of Kings. The apostle John said he came to his own but his own received him not. When the tribulation time comes, a number of Jews will realize that Jesus is the Messiah and repent and turn to Him and be saved.
Hope this helps.

If a Jew believed in Jesus, then s/he would not be a Jew but a Christian.
The Jews keep the Old Testament and do not recognize Jesus as the fulfillment of the prophecies regarding the Messiah. Some believe he was a prophet. None believe he is the Christ, the Messiah. That is the difference between Jews and Christians.

Isn't it funny that God works in ways we don't expect. If the Jews were expecting a Moses figure to come and that they would rule and reign, and that's what happened, maybe they would have believed. But God is much bigger than that. He sent Jesus born of a woman that all might be restored. Not quite what they were expecting even though it was written in their scriptures. But we also know that Paul has said they will be restored and the book of Revelation focuses on them and their role in the end times. So get ready. Not all of them but some will do great things in the end times.

Jesus was a Jew (and the plural of Jew is Jews without the apostrophe). Why do people say "believe in" ? The bible uses the term "beleive on his name"...I am sure Jews (without the apostrophe) believe that Jesus existed (in this they would be sadly mistaken, but whatever) and they certainly believe that his name existed...in fact 25% of them have the same name (Joshua). So your question is moot.

It is my understanding that the Jews do believe in the existance of Jesus but that they do not believe he is the savior that was proclaimed in prophecy.

Jews do not accept Jesus as the messiah because:
1) Jesus did not fulfill the messianic prophecies.
2) Jesus did not embody the personal qualifications of the Messiah.
3) Biblical verses "referring" to Jesus are mistranslations.
4) Jewish belief is based on national revelation.

They do, they just don't think he was God's son. I mean, Jesus came up to the Jews and told them he was their king. What would you do?

They believe he existed... they just did not put faith in that He is the Son of God & came for our ransom.
They are still waiting for the Messiah to come.

Jews don't accept the New Testament. Anyway, the whole concept of a Messiah is absurd, and gives people false hope.
