Why not hang out and get to be close friends first. Then maybe you won't have to change his mind. The best relationships, I think, start out as friendships. My wife and I are best friends and we were friends before we started dating. Just work on a good , solid friendship first, develop some trust and good communication. Then the foundation for a good relationship is there. Good luck.

Ok, reality.....if he says that...he straight up don't like you. That's an excuse because you are not his type or for some reason he just does not want you. Move on. Girls are too easily fooled by guys excuses, church guy or not, he doesn't like you, find someone else.

Let him grow on you as friends, so if you're really that close, you can go out then break up and remain best friends:)

show him that you really care and that you want to make a commitment. but don't pressure and pester him. he'll tell you when he's ready.
