Jeff may not be the best, but he's definitely one of them.
To the people who try and say that Dale Jr. is, I have to laugh. Jr. is a good driver and a good person, but he doesn't have the driving talent of Gordon, Stewart, or his late father.

Well, you are close, he's an OWNER of the best driver in the Nextel Cup series. First off, NASCAR is not "the world". I love it, but it is what it is. It's hard to compare stockcar drivers to others. HOWEVER, we can compare them to each other in the form of statistics. Jimmie Johnson has better stats since his first full season (2002) overall (except for poles) than Jeff Gordon does. I agree with PAPABILL, Jeff is one of the 5 best drivers of all time in NASCAR. Time will tell with Jimmie, but he probably started too late to accumulate the stats that Gordon has and will continue to add to his total.

Maybe one of the best but you can't say the best. Have you seen all the drivers in the world? I would have to say that Jeff Gordon is one of the best drivers in Nascar, but not in the world.

NO ABSOLUTELY NOT. IT IS A FACT THAT HE IS NOT BECAUSE HE HAS NOT RACED ON THE WORLD CIRCUIT. TO SAY SO IS PURE BJ SPECULATION. Tony stewart is a better driver than bj jeff g simply because he has raced other circuits, and had success. best n the world? he would have to race the world gp circuit towin that and nascar would make him # 1.

Even though I am a Harvick fan, I would have to say that Stewart is the best driver in Nascar. He can drive sprints, indy cars, and cup cars. He's a jack of all trades. But the best driver in the world,,,,, who knows. They may not even be a racer!!!!!!
