The amendment would state that any religion that does not acknowledge that Jesus Christ was the only son of god, was crucified for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day, is no longer granted tax-free status and no longer has any standing in a court of law.

In other words, people would still be free to believe what they want, and to worship as they wish, but they would no longer be recognized as a "religion" unless they are a Christian denomination.

Would you support such an amendment?

Heck no!!! While I believe what you said about Christ, freedom of religion in this country means that we are free to practice religion - or not, as we see fit. The government has no right to dictate to us, nor to recognize one religious belief and not another. While I am a Christian who believes strongly in the right of people to worship and practice their religious beliefs without hindrance, I would never dream of legalizing only a set religious way of thinking. This not only would be unconstitutional, but would play into the hands of the devil, who the Bible prophecies will bring about the anti-Christ, and that individual will rule just that way - by proclaiming that one way of believing is the only acceptable way. It's one thing to believe something is the only way. It's quite another to force that belief on others by legal means. I wouldn't force someone to read the Bible in the classroom, but if other religious texts are allowed, I would expect the right to have the Bible read as well. Likewise, if one belief is allowed in society, others should be allowed/respected as well. To do otherwise is to deny our personal freedoms. It will be the beginning of the end for our country is we start down the legalized religion path. My answer to your question is an emphatic NO!!

Are you that negative about Christianity? We are FREE to do what we want. I am aChristian. I believe Christianity is the 'right way' to go. If someone wants to be an Atheist, or any other religion, that is up to them.
What makes America great is our FREEDOM to do what we want. That is why we have so many problems. Many people cant handle the freedom, and are too irresponsible, and do bad things.
While America is a great place, we are not ready for a theocratic government. As you can see throughout history, and in the middle east today, a theocratic government DOES NOT WORK.
Only when Christ returns will there be a 'workable' theocracy.
I would not support an amendment for this.
Now to your underlying issue, the government wouldnt do it either, because that would mean less tax revenue.....

Absolutely not! Establishment of a state church tends to weaken the religion and to give the state too much power over religion and conscience. Such an amendment would be contrary to the US Constitution and most civil law of the contemporary West. Many Islamic countries have have similar laws but it is Islam that is the only acceptable religion.
I am a Christian and I would fight such an amendment.

As a pastor and a God fearing man,I would not as so much support such a bill as this or of any likeness to it.(1) It destorys the very reason as to what God is all about. He is not some God that we can place in an amendment and be woshipped.Yet he is a God of great reasoning.(Isa:1:18) and a mighty God of thought (Isa:55:8-10).With this in mind God will never force himself on people that do not want him.
(2) God will not commit spiritual rape. When God made man he gave him a will to do and a will not to do.Preach the word and if the word dose not change people then this tells me that they have a will not to do.

The United States is getting way too far away from the whole "separation of church and state" ideal that was one of the founding ideals of this country, and it shows in questions like these. There's a reason why the Constitution makes no mention of "one religion". Yes, it mentions a Nation Under God, but does not spell out the edicts of a "national religion", and with good reason. The pilgrims left Europe because the Catholic church ran EVERYTHING, and they wanted freedom to practice their beliefs without being under the hammer of The Vatican.

As a Christian, I'm appalled at the number of "religious right" that believe that government-sponsored religion is somehow a "good thing". Shows that humans really don't learn anything from their past.

there already is a constitutional amendment that protects christians right to be.Don't just believe the liberal PC crowd.
read the constitution and the bill of rights for the first time.why can't anti-christian read and see that they are bring lied to when they are told to believe that somewhere in the constitution is the words "separation of church and state"(abolish christianity).those words came from a letter that is not part of the Constitution.

Bill of Rights
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

No,there should be no additional law (especially that kind).

the difference between man forcing man to worship GOD by such an act and the way that GOD has set thing up is that GOD is the creator and man the creation. GOD gave man a choice, serve HIM or dont, but know the consequences if u dont. man playing GOD is nothing more than being bullyish, savage and barbaric...much like the so called christians that came to save the so called savages of america! no, i would not support such a thing

I do not think God would support that. He gave us free will. He wants people to come to Him because they love and believe in Him, not because it is the only choice. He could make a rule that says that if he wanted to, but he doesn't want that. Why don't you know enough about your own religion to know that?

Oh and then there is that whole thing about America being the nation of freedom of religion. That's there so crazy Christians like you do not get absolute power. England was once ruled by a single religion. It did not go so well. Remember reading about the crusades? No you probably don't.

No, I wouldn't support such an amendment. This country was founded with the idea of people being free from government control of religion. You can't impose a faith in Christ on people. God has to give them that gift.

Ephesians 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

No, because people would just pose as a Christian church to get tax free status and allow what is not of God in and the ways of the Lord would be even more defiled by false leaders than they are now. The Christian church already has enough to contend with to have even more false , so called Christians misrepresenting us.
