I loved the ROCK..went to every race, but with the ever growing interest and money investments in Nascar....Rockingham could not fill the seats, location was bad due to growth and that is part of the downfall of The Rock as well as the owners of the track not making the renovations to draw crowds. Hopefully the Bush series would consider making The Rock or possible the Craftsman Truck Series..it is a shame to just let the track go to waste!!!!!!!!!

It will probably be awhile before its even reconsidered. I think Kentucky is the only existing track that even has a remote shot being considered by Nascar and that is going through courts. Unfortunately The Rock in the last couple years wasnt filling the seats and the sheer number of tracks in that area probably hurt it. Nascar is looking to expand preferably in the North Western United States. They already established themselves in the south. Maybe we might get a new Rock in some other place :(

i admire Rockingham too. regrettably, I doubt NASCAR sprint Cup will ever return there. motives? prepared to get into larger markets. possibly-i do no longer stay in North Carolina-too far from huge city. Seating potential. the ideal desire for Rockingham-different than ARCA and IHRA drag racing-isn't any doubt one in each of the Craftsman Truck sequence, however the opportunities of sprint Cup returning to Rockingham are distant at ideal.

I wish.The Rock was one of the best tracks,but the geographic location was the downfall.
But I would sure like to see them race there again.
