Will an XP upgrade CD allow a recovery ME disk be used as proof when it asks for a Windows 95, 98, or ME CD work? Its a OEM restore disk....

Thanks. No its mine, its ME disk from the OS that came with my PC. It didnt hurt my feeling, its fine.
I also read that It checks ur CDROM drive if you dont have an OS installed, so it can see if you own an OS previously, but, ah we will see what happens when my Replacment XP cd ships to me.

In general, XP upgrade CD just checks if an OS was already installed on the HD. It doesn't check your CDs and such.

If it asks for a code, then yes. If it wants to verify a previous install of the OS, then you must install it before you "upgrade" to XP. If the ME disk is not yours, it may be illegal, but its fine by me, MIcrosoft screws enough people every day because Windows is the most popular and most implemented OS. Just go ahed!!

i does not advise it. advancements on desktops on no account artwork you're plenty extra perfect served to wipe your equipment (after backing up) and beginning sparkling. the different attention is will your older laptop help vista? you would be able to discover it works even though it is so sluggish you wont like it.
