My sister is expecting her first baby in august. I currently live in florida. She is in Boston. I would like to go home for a couple months before I go to camp and help her out. are there any restrictions on where I go during my 90 days after I take the oath? Do I have any obligations (places to be) before camp? Where do I leave from?

No restrictions on your travel as long as you are where you are supposed to be at the time and on the date specified by your contract. Just let your recruiter know as a courtesy and give him a point of contact for yourself.

you will probably leave from your MEPS station nearest to your home town.

There are no restrictions. They like to keep tabs on you, because alot of people change their mind and don't go to boot camp.

Dont smoke pot or do any drugs. If you do, you'll be sent home. They test you the night you get to Great Lakes.

Don't get anyone pregnant, or get pregnant if you're a chick. You'll get sent home.

No. As long as you show up when you are supposed to you can do what you want. My husband did delayed entry and we went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon before he left. I don't know how they do it nowadays but he had to go to a hotel the night before and stay with the other people who were leaving for bootcamp at that time. Good luck.

I was in the DEP for the Marines for most of my senior year of high school.

It was in 1992 so forgive me if this is wrong, but I do not believe there are any travel restrictions. I don't remember any at any rate.

Ask your recruiter. You still have requirements with the recruiting station, but they may allow you to go if you check in on a weekly basis and you have completed ALL of your DEP requirements prior to going. Only your recruiter and his LCPO can you give you the go ahead to do this, do not just go.

You can go as you please. As a matter of courtesy let the recruiter know you're going to be away, just in case they need your signature on a form, or somethig minor but which has to betaken care of.
Although not really necessary, an "attaboy" won't hurt.
