I'm real confused. Ring Necked Parakeets are bigger than regular budgies and have bigger beaks too. Why are budgie foods meant for Ring Necks as well(also on the zupreem parakeets food bag it has Ring necks featured on the front of the organic food and the parakeet fruit blend. They just look like they should be eating parrot food or something.

Pelleted foods are mostly the same formulations but come in different sizes. Find the size your bird likes best. Harrisons bird pellets, sold through veterinarians, is specially formulated for individual species.

Ring necks are nothing like budgies, I have both kinds of birds. However if you feed them the right kind of food (pellets) they actually eat the exact same thing, in fact all my birds eat the same thing. I feed them pellet food and fresh food only, no seed unless for treats. Seed should only make up less then 20% of what they eat.

However almost all pellet foods are extactly the same sort of things in them for all birds and are perfect for birds to eat their whole long life. The only main thing is the different size of pellet. My ringnecks like the middle size or big size, where as my budgies only eat the little size.

Keep in mind however that the hardest bird to get switched over onto pellets is a parakeet.

They are trying to confuse you with weird bags. Look not at the outside of the bags but at what is in them. Does the food look like it will be too little or too big for your bird? I would suggest a mixture of the two if the bigger stuff isn't too big. This will give the bird some variety and it will let you know what it likes to eat and what it doesn't. With birds it is trial and error at first until you learn what it is that your specific bird prefers. They can be picky so be patient.

A Indian Ringneck Parakeet, is a larger bird about twice the size as a cockatiel, and yes they have much larger beeks and will also learn to talk. Try getting them food made for african Greys, it's better for them because its about the size they need.

I agree with Yomi.I have cockatiels who i feed parakeet pellets to as they prefer the smaller size.Dont worry about the package. The only thing you wouldn't feed to your ring neck is Lory bird food as its made specifically for Lories.

Birds pluck the two because of the fact they are bored, depressed or they are ill. i prefer to advise spending extra time with it in case you have not. some birds choose a great form of interplay to be satisfied. it would help to learn if there are any uncomplicated reasons to your particular fowl species to pluck feathers.
