The subtlety of evil is now seen in the notion that this darkness thing could be a reality. That is nothing more than the snake talking again. In order to destroy evil, you must first know how to recognize it.

Look at it this way. God is an omnipotent, omnescient, and omnipresent, perfect being, right? Well, why would such a being create a being of manifest evil. As a spiritual being god transends materialistic terms like good and evil, big and little, male or female. So why would he do it? To be a jerk? To be funny? To play with us? Or does god love us because he created us and charishes us like a model train fanatic loves his little set up. Why would he put in place a being set to destroy all of that? Christian theology and dogma just isn't rational. Try reading the Bhagavad-Gita it makes much more sence. (Once you understand some vocabulary.

Most of what you perceive in the world as evil is merely incompetence, ignorance or self-interest.
The old testament was compiled in Babylon to solidify the dispersed Jewish community and explain why after centuries of God speaking to the children of Israel plainly and supporting them visibly he now choose to "move in mysterious ways he's wonders to perform"
The new testament was compiled in a still roman dominated world to solidify the hold Rome had on the emerging Christian Church and to suppress the Christian sects that preached gnosticism and/or other reasons against a centralized church doctrine involving buildings and priests and a religious bureaucracy and hierarchy. They also had to suppress any gospels that showed Rome in an unfavorable light or they'd be back to being lion fed.

What if, what if, what if, you can what if anything all you want but that won't base it in reality.
The reality is men wrote the bible with the inspiration of God.
The only place that good or evil lay in inside people, it is what comes from the inside of a person out towards the rest of the world that is either good or evil.
Try getting and having a personal relationship with Jesus.

You have let the seed of doubt plant itself in your mind and it is growing. Uproot it before it takes root and a firm hold on your mind. It is not good to live doudting everything, being sure of nothing. Trust God and He will show you what is true asd right.

I used to wonder this exact same thing. It's really all about faith; you can do nothing else. Theoretically, the devil could have written the book to deceive us all. We wouldn't know.
What if Christ is resurrected as something different than what people expect? The answers to everything aren't as clear as everyone makes it seem.

why would satan create a book that defeats himself?
the rules aren't hard to follow if you love the Lord. In fact, the closer my relationship with Him becomes, the easier it is to follow Him....
He's the one that makes it easy, not me.
I recently read a very nice quote:
"I love Jesus so much, I can't wait until I forgive someone"
that's pretty much how it is.... I can't stop myself - I love everyone
blessings :)

This thought process of everything being black and white is due to Manicheism. This has helped mess up a lot of ppl's concept of God/religion/order in the world.
The rules are not too hard to follow. Islam gets a lot of bad things said about it but many ppl find peace through it. It is a balanced way of living. The concept of God is more understandable too. Check it out! http://www.turntoislam.com

What you are experiencing is called double-mindedness. The answer to double-mindedness is found in James chapter 4.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
