you need to check and make sure it has power getting to the motor,if there's no power at all to it no motor will work on it,take a test light and see if there's any voltage at all getting to it,and then go from there with it,good luck on it.

Have you checked fuses? Drivers side could be on separate fuse, mine is. I just had my second switch put in within a month. The passenger side window was still working in both cases. I think it may have something to do with the window not coming up evenly, but the mechanic said no.

I would suggest checking online and see if gmc had a recall on the wiring harness for your power windows because i had received a recall notice on a 2oo1 chevy i had previously owned and it was for the wiring harness in the drivers door

There is probably a bundle of wiring between the door and the door jamb, roughly under the side view mirror. It will have a rubber boot of sorts on it for protection. Sometimes one or more of the wires inside this boot will break or corrode from the constant opening and closing of the door. I have seen it a number of times with this style of wiring, both on doors and rear doors on station wagons and vans. Good luck.

Buy a new window hoist that is inside the door and holds the window.Sounds like that one is worn out.May also need a new window motor as that one could be tired.

Check to see if you have power to the motor, with a test light. If so, you may have a bad regulator.

does it make noise when you are trying to use it? If it does, then it is not a fuse. Then check to see if it slipped off the track. If no noise then it could be a fuse like the others said.
