I'm a Muslim woman who loves books and has my own mini library...If I went to a Christian Bookstore to get a couple books for reference and you were there and saw me, how would you react? Would you think I am converting to Christianity and praise Jesus? Would you try to talk to me about religion? What would you think/do?

There is one by my home...but maybe I should just order the stuff off the net....

I live in a very small town in Southern Alabama. If you walked into the local grocery store dressed in Muslim attire, you would be stared at, whispered about, and generally made uncomfortable, I'm sorry to say....but I doubt anyone would talk to you...unless it were a member of the local law enforcement, who would be looking for any reason he could think of to pat you down for weapons. We did have a family of Muslims...at least, I think they were Muslims...but they moved out.
Let me hasten to say that I don't think this situation is right...but that is the way things are in these small towns in the deep south...

Most "Christian" bookstores are "religious bookstores" and carry books on a variety of religions. I have purchased many of my books in a "religious" store that is primarily Judaic. I don't think anyone should be worried about why you are there. You have a right to be there.

I have visited, at one time or another and in one place or another Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, and Jewish bookstores. The only ones who ever spoke to me apart from the transaction itself were those in the Christian bookstore.

I would probably say a silent prayer that the Holy Spirit of God would lead you to a book that would reveal the truth to you about Jesus and how without faith in his substitutionary work on the cross we will all stand before God clothed in the filthy rags of our own self-righteousness before being cast into the Lake of Fire for all eternity because we rejected the gracious gift of God's Son on our behalf.

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. 16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Christians are generally less intrusive than you seem to think.

When answering questions about our faith.. well.. yeah, we will tell you what we think.

Going up to a stranger in a bookstore? Well.. not so much.

I would probably be no more surprised than you would at seeing me purchase a copy of the Koran. Unless you appeared lost or confused I would probably not say anything to you, since I welcome anyone's interest in Christianity.

I would be excited to see you there. I would not rush and try to force Christianity onto you. If I were to witness to you, it would be with my actions, so to speak, not with my words. I would get to know you. Only then would I hint at such things verbally.
