To my knowledge, the nephilim show up in detail outside of Genesis only in the Book of Enoch and the Book of Jubilees, which aren't always considered canonical, and are (I think) obliquely referred to in other deuterocanonical texts. They don't appear in the Book of Mormon. If they exist in Islam, I don't know of it, but I admit I haven't read all of the Quran and don't know much about the non-Quranic sources of Islamic theology.

Nephites? In the Book of Mormon, all over, the whole book is pretty much based on the Nephites and the Lamanites, they lived in the Americas according to the BOM

Do they have to? I wasn't aware that this was a pre-requisite for canonization. But, I could be wrong.
