When your body receives anything that's incompatible, your immune system kicks in and attacks it because, to your immune system, it's a foreign substance that doesn't belong there. Yes, it certainly will be fatal.

If it is ABO incompatible, they would undergo hemolytic anemia, and kill all the new blood. This is a life threatening emergency. If it is Rh incompatible, unless it was a mother (much longer explanation) nothing would happen.

severe illness. death depends of how well your immune system fights that foreign body.
