The Bible isn't a book written for children although the essentials of the good news about Jesus can be understood by a child. It's a book that takes an uncompromising look at humanity and tells it like it is. Some passages are not appropriate for small children just like a movie that shows rape and murder and sexual immorality is not appropriate for little children.
Apparently you don't understand what the Bible is all about if you think that God approves of "killing babies raping innocent virgin girls and kidnapping murder for land and selling you daughter as a sex slave".
Maybe if you took a class in correct interpretation of these ancient writings you would understand the difference between God's perfect will, his permissive will, and his long suffering with sinners and the restraints that his grace imposes upon evil deeds that would be much worse without his intervention.

I know the verses you speak of and I will discuss them with my children at the right age. They are too young to even grasp the concept of death entirely. There is not rush. I will also hold of the sex and drug talk until they are older.
I am not ashamed of the Bible. Each story has merit and can be used for instruction or warning. I think one of the things that makes the Bible so wonderful is the attention to detail, even the hard stories that are graphic and horrible. If stories like these were not in them how could we take it seriously?

My children are adults, and are too smart to fall for any religion. I see you are familiar with biblical accounts of atrocities that go on to this day. I too, have studied the Bible and only regard this book as unreliable reference of life back in that time. A lot of the stories in the Bible are fantasy and utter nonsense. This is obviously not something God would have authored or inspired.

Joshua 6 is a great verse and I would read it to my children. They even made a children's video from it. The rest of them I would wait until they could understand it. Those verses are not how you imply them.

To you, you read and do not understand because you do not read the Word of God by faith, and believe in God for the salvation of your soul. You think that you can pull scriptures out and take them out of context, and produce ridiculous arguments and idiotic questions as you just did!
I would not read them to children you oaf! For children would not understand their meaning. You, think that you would read a crime scene to a child? Would you read obituaries to a child? Would you read a medical procedure that would perform an abortion to a child? - how much more ridiculous is your statement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not force any religion onto any children of mine, or my lack there of. If they wanted to learn about Christianity, they could find those verses themselves.
But yeah, they definately reveal the nature of the OT God.

Is there a point you are trying to make?
Some people believe the bible uplifts them, they choose to read the stories that inspire them.
I myself don't read the bible at all.
But I don't know why you feel it is necessary to openly attack the Bible. Did it hurt you at one time, or something? Come flying out of the bookcase at one point, and smack you?
You have to cool the hostilities, you are only hurting yourself.
