whatever you say is always the best there is... suggestions from others may not fit your personality and you might sound awkwardly fake.

my suggestion, just say it and it will work. if not, it's not even worth anything. :)

You can either sneak it into a conversation or just walk up to her and ask.
Something simple like 'Hey, wanna go see a movie?' or 'We should get together sometime. I heard a great movie was playing'

Ask her out for a specific time and activity. That way she can say no without rejecting you as a human being. Most people find it very threatening to bluntly reveal their feelings, which is what you're asking for with a question like "wanna be my girlfriend", and you're likely to get a joke back rather than a real answer.

How about this straight forward approach :
You seem like a really nice person and I'd love to get to know you better, "would you like to go out for dinner?
or
"a coffee, if you want to keep it casual at first."

Most women like the basic good mannered direct approach
don't try to be all "creative" it comes off as cheesy.

*I don't recommend a "movie" as a first date - You can't get to know someone sitting in the dark looking at a moviescreen.
Maybe dinner and then movie, but not "just" a movie.

I would really love to take you out this weekend (be specific on WHEN, otherwise it sounds half-assed). WOuld you like to go to the beach for dinner? I'll bring a picnic. (you've made it clear WHEN, WHAT and it's kinda romantic so it makes it clear it's a date.

If you feel the need to clarify things or if the asking is kind of out of the blue, it can be charming to start out with a little complimentary thing like, "you know, I think you are a ton of fun (or really beautiful or something) and I'd love it if we could go out).

Be confident. Women LOVE confidence.

Good luck-
DN

Wanna go to the movies with me this weekend. If still in school - wanna go to the dance with me. If your an adult - wanna go out for drinks. Or have lunch. THEN dinner-date.

Walk up to her and dont act nervous and you say, "Hey "so and so'" I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me sometime? Maybe we could see a movie or somethin." Always seem relaxed and calm. Girls like the confident type.
