find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Walking isn't enough. Simply put you have to be in a caloric deficit to lose weight. If you're still taking in more calories than you burn (even if they're from all "healthy" foods) then you will still not lose weight. "Reduced fat" and "Fat Free" foods by the way aren't necessarily healthy, they're just not as god awful as their full fat counterparts.
General Rules to follow include:

Eating 5-6 small meals/snacks a day
Each meal consisting of a complete and lean protein source and green vegetable or gylcemic load fruit
Limit your consumption of sugars and processed foods (if it comes in a box it's probably crap)
Save starchy carb containing foods until after an intense resistance workout or for breakfast

You'll also want to included resistance training to help burn calories and more importantly preserve your muscle tissue.

Remember that fat free doesn't mean calorie free. Take a look at the sugar content of the stuff you are eating. A lot of fat free foods have a lot of sugar injected into it to replace the fat. Eat a healthy balance of whole proteins (Chicken, seafood, Turkey, Egg whites), "good" low sugar carbs (oatmeal, potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes), and fiberous carbs (vegetables). Also remember, fat is not a bad thing, as long as it is good fat. Eat healthy fats (Avocados, oils like extra virgin olive oil). These are the fundamentals of a healthy diet. As long as you are watching your calorie intake with these foods, you should be fine.

Also, if you cardio (i.e. your walking) isn't doing the job, then step it up. Do more at a higher intesity. Get that heart rate up. You are not a mutant. There is not something wrong with you. You just probably need to make a couple adjustments. I hope that works for you.

Fat free and reduced fat are just gigs to get you hooked. The foods are usually packed with high salt and sugar in the end and you never knew it until you looked at the back of the package. Time to can that stuff! Pull out some healthy veggies and fruits. Basically fresh foods where you can monitor and control the salt being added. Also the walking may be a little to subtle for you, try to kick it up to some jogging or bicycling.

Hope it all works out for you in the end!!

GREAT LUCK!!!

Going on a diet can be tough to stick to, so usually having a motive like needing to wear a bathing suit to a pool party or something like that can really help you. Don't weigh yourself everyday because that will bring down your spirits, do it like every 2 weeks. You might want to plan out what you're going to eat everyday for about one week and see how that goes, also exercising daily like you've been doing is good. Always eat breakfast because you're more likely to lose weight if you eat breakfast, and eat in moderation because you don't want to be very hungry and then skrew up your diet and be tempting to eat something you'll regret later. Good luck!

AVOID food that contains hydrogenated oils (fried fast foods, etc.), high-fructose corn syrup (most, but not all sodas contain this, etc), and enriched flour . Just check the food label in the 'ingredients' part. America is the only country that has these ingredients which are literally fattening the people. All other countries have banned these products from their food. I personally eat organic food, which is just food without these ingredients and organic food is grown/processed without chemicals and artificial ingredients. If you want more info, all u have to do is type in hydrogenated oil or high fructose corn syrup in google and loads of information will come up.

As a general rule, you will lose 1-2 lbs a week safely. Losing 20 lbs in 2 weeks is unrealistic. If it were that easy, there really wouldn't be that many overweight people.

Sounds like you are doing everything right, except...

...maybe you are expecting too quickly. It took me three months doing all those things, plus aerobics to get where I wanted to be. Three months. If you have a health concern, ask your doctor. Otherwise, be patient with yourself. If you do not lose the weight too quickly, that means you may be able to keep it off longer!

GOOD LUCK
