Figure out a way to gain her trust, like let her watch you on a date or something

and actually it depends, how old are you>?

not trying to be stalkerish lke that, just want to know for reference

How old are you. How old is the guy. A mothers worst fear is her child getting hurt/killed by someone being irresponsible. Make sure you know the guy really well. Double date if she will let you. The couples can make each other sure that they will be okay. There are a lot of freaks in this world and your mother is just trying to protect you. Do not sneak. You need to earn and keep her trust, so does your boyfriend. Then maybe she will let you date.

how old are you is the first question?

if your under the age of 15, you shouldnt be going on dates in the first place.

your Mom cant stop you having a boyfriend, but she can rule on the dating side..

she is just trying to protect you, believe me, as you get older youll go out on all the dates you can even think about..youll eventually get tired and just want some alone time..

but in the meantime...

why dont you try a group outing..dont even tell your Mom date...but do tell her that its guys and girls going to the movies, mall, or wherever..

it will make her feel better that your with a group more than going out with a guy alone..

mention a friend is going that she likes, it will make he feel alittle bit better..make sure the friend goes, dont lie..it will make it worse in the future..

good luck..

if you do get to go either way, inform her where you will be and what time your coming home.

i would call her once or twice just to make her feel better..

She probably has reasons that cannot be explained yet but I think its best to sit down with her and talk to her about it. Like why you want to go on the date with this guy and be mature about it. If you listen to her reasons and she listens to yours, maybe you two will gain some trust and you can go on a date. After the first few dates you are safe, get home on time, and she meets the guy then maybe the trust between you two will strengthen and you will be able to date much more freely.

I had this problem 2 weeks ago. Remeber one thing! DO NOT WHINE. okay here is what i did. The first part wasnt so easy. I had to show her how responsible and mature i was. The second part was kindof embarassing. My mom said she had to meet "him" before we went anywhere. So i HAD to bring him over. . . (she is a physcologist so i was freaking out cause she tries to analize everybody) but it really wasnt so bad. he was actually cool with it. Then she saw that (like i said) he was what she decided he was a "good" person. well i still think that my mom is way over protective and can be unreasonable, but hey, im not gonna tell her that! =)
*it helps to be really nice and extra helpful to your mom to earn brownie pionts! good luck!

When I had the same problem, I would "go-out" with the guy a couple times and then bring him home as a friend so my mom could get to know him. After she knew him, she relized he was a good match for me and now were happily dating.
Hope this helps.

Try the idea of eating dinner or watching a movie at yours or his home. The idea of having a parent around might sound a bit better to your mom. Good luck.

How old are you? If you are like 10, your mom might have a point. If you are 21, then that is a whole other story.
