Did you take her temp or does she just feel hot? When their breasts are full of milk, they feel very warm. Their temp is a little higher to help keep the milk warm for the pups. I have had mamas that would not touch food or water, or even go to the bathroom for a few days after delivery. If the vet says she is okay, then just keep an eye on her. Offer her some chicken broth instead of the water. She may not ewant to eat her dog food for awhile either and I papmper mine during those first few days because they do need some nourishment to keep her and the pups healthy. Congrats on the new babies!! It is always a lot of work, but fun too having the babies in the house.

Nothing! You need to get her into the vets now! Take the pups with you. Fever right now means a possible infection that only your vet can take care of. No home meds or remidies will work.
Vets now OK.
No Tylenol at all. Or asprin. It will make the pups sick because it will go into the mom's milk. You need to call your vet. Dogs dont get a fever from being depressed.

Oh good listen to Chihuahua Momma. she knows what she's talking about.

She may have an infection if she has just given birth or maybe worse. A placenta or a puppy retained. She probably needs antibiotics. I would get her to the vet first thing in the morning at latest. I myself would take her tonight.

I take it she was okay when she had her 24 hour checkup after the birth?

You can;t take a risk of her getting really sick with puppies to tend. They are much better off nursing from their mother than you having to bottle feed them if she is too sick to do so.

Praying all will be okay.

Edit to your update Tylenol is toxic to dogs.

What color is her discharge? Sounds like she has either a retained placenta, or a puppy still inside (dead).

You really need to get her to the Vet now! If you wait much longer, you WILL loose her!

first is first you don't ever give human medicine to a dog unless the vet says so. and second of all take you're dog to the vet before something happens.

Just give her water cold enough to not give her sore throat. Fevers are normal after giving birth, even for humans. Don't worry, it'll pass.

You can give her some baby aspirin at a very low dosage.
