He is not the only prophet on Earth, but President Hinkley is the only one authorized to use all the keys of the priesthood.

I won't comment on whether this is just what they believe or is it a lie as I have no idea what are the ideology of the Mormon Church.

However, I'd like to comment that there will always be prophets around. Its only the question of whether the level of prophecy they have. Adam, Noah, Abraham and Moses had high level of prophecy.

And I saw someone earlier answered that there will be only one prophet at one time. I'd like to ask him to study Genesis and Exodus again, in detail. There had been many times when there are many prophets at the same time. Its just that most are normal prophets unlike Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and many others who are of high level of prophecy. I'll give an example here, when God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, both Abraham and Lot were prophets.

i am a mormon so i hope i'll be able to clarify some things about mormons

we are not a cult

we believe that the president of our church today is a prophet of God. we believe that there have been many prophets before this, and will be more after this. we also have other leaders of our church, but the head of our church is the one we consider our prophet. we also believe that our prophet is called of God, sent as an instrument of God to preach His word.

if you have any more questions, don't be afraid to ask.

The President, the First Presidency, and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are all regarded as prophets, seers, and revelators. The current president, Gordon B. Hinckley, is colloquially referred to as _the_ prophet, as his authority trumps the others.

That is what they believe. They reckon that theirs is the only true church on the face of the earth as well.

Both of these are false of course.

No. Look in the book of Deuteronomy for the test of a true prophet of God.

No dice. And why would only one group know of a prophet? One with very questionable teachings and theology? I don't think so.

In a recent interview with Larry King, church president (and prophet, seer and revelator) said god doesn't actually speak directly to him, but it is more like a 'feeling'. The church is directed on the "hunches" of a nonagenarian.

God help them if Boyd KKK Packer takes over. He'll be telling god what to do..
