Think of the armour and here is how I see that we use it.

Feet are shod with the preparation of peace. You walk with the idea of being at peace and in peace with others (the Bible says not to let the sun go down on your anger)

Use the helmet of salvation, by hiding God's word in your heart and memorizing it. .

Shield of faith is used to get through obstacles. You have faith and rely on that faith in God.

The breastplate of righteousness means that you live in a holy life, which means that you have repented of any sin and you strengthen this particular armour as it's the protection over your key organs in your body.

The sword (Bible) is used for attack. Not on others, but when Satan attacks, to use it as a way to defeat the devil's attacks (remember that Jesus used scriptures when Satan tempted him in the wilderness).

Finally, the belt of truth, because if you are not honest, think of what a belt holds up and how you can expose yourself if you are not honest.

Put on the Armour of God and use it in your every day walk and talk, truth is the word of God, know it, study it, confess it
walk in Salvation free from the world of sin and it's pitfalls
walk in peace and look up the fruits of the spirit and apply that to your life
use faith as you would a car, drive it every day and don't look back at what you missed
it's not worth going back for

It is a choice to put on Christ's righteousness. We are not righteous alone and never will be without Christ. By reading the Word of God, living according to His Will, and bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit, no man can take away the joy you have living for God. Once that joy is squelched within your spirit, then your zeal and heart for God will harden. The enemy tries hard to make this happen in many people, and has succeeded. But for many others, they are still living for God because of the armor.

Have a Blessed Day!

We have to remember that an "armour" is a defense of sort. It protects us from an enemy during an attack/war. In this case our enemy is Satan and we have to protect ourselves from his attacks. Having been in prison when he wrote this letter, Paul uses a metaphor here in his description. He was constantly in the presence of the Roman soldiers and I'm sure quite familiar with their armor. A soldiers armor covers their whole body and so in this scripture we have to put on the whole armour of God; truth (loins), righteousness (breastplate, heart, etc), peace (feet), faith (shield) and the Word (sword). When we put these on, it covers us from head to toe and protects us from the evil one.

The formula is specific - and is itself the answer.

The shield of faith
The sword of the spirit
The belt of truth
The breastplate of righteousness
The helmet of salvation
The sandals of peace

Together these are a metaphor for the recipe of serenity, and serenity is the whole armour of God that protects so "that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground." (Ephesians 6:13)

Christians have a war with wicked spirit forces of Satan and not with men. Satan has been using the same old methods since Eden, never changed. So we know how to fight him.

The complete suit of armor is put on by faith, which is built up by study of the Bible, by association with God's organization, and by putting it in our hearts. We do the last by making sure we truly accurately understand what the Bible is saying and making it a part of our lives. Doing this allows us to withstand the pressures of this wicked system of things and Satan's attempts to change us from serving God.

Do these 3 things and your armour will give you maximum benefit.

1 Read your bible every day. 2 Pray every day, 3. Witness Christ to everyone who comes into your path when the opportunity presents itself.

Hello and here is a input from a author i enjoy Ellen White: God has a deep and earnest love for every member of the human family; not one is forgotten, not one is left helpless and deceived to be overcome by the enemy. And if those who have enlisted in the army of Christ will put on the whole armor of God, and wear it, they will be proof against all the assaults of the enemy. Those who really desire to be taught of God, and to walk in His way, have the sure promise that if they feel their lack of wisdom and ask of God, He will give

liberally, and upbraid not. The apostle says, "Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways." God is behind every promise, and we cannot dishonor Him more than by questioning and hesitating, by asking and not believing, and then by talking doubt. If you do not immediately receive what you have asked for, will you go on in sullenness and unbelief? Believe; believe that God will do just what He has promised. Keep your prayers ascending, and watch, work, and wait. Fight the good fight of faith. Say to your heart, "God has invited me to come. He has heard my prayer. He has pledged His word that he will receive me, and He will fulfil His promise. I can trust God; for He so loved me that He gave His only-begotten Son to die for me. The Son of God is my Redeemer." "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?" {FE 299.2}
