I mean you are either a god or you aren't right? And if those gods were around before god, then why does that make them false gods? They were there first. That's not very nice when you think about it.

Joshua I don't think ANY God is a false God. Just because I choose to follow a DIFFERENT God that doesn't make me wrong.

geeeeeee . . . can you feel the LUVVV in this room? o_O

Nice try, though. Kudos to you for making the effort! How unfortunate that some people just can't see past their little "I'm right and everybody else in the whole wide world is WRONG because this book tells me so" mindwipes and try to find a little common ground.

I believe that godhs are inextricably wound together with ancestry and culture . . . so my godhs are right for MY people, or Folk, other godhs are . . . well, they're other people's godhs. But still godhs! My ancestors would make an offering to the local deities wherever they traded, out of respect and good manners.

Gee. . . what a concept!

If comparative religion is taught in every school in every country, it should clear the air of many misconceptions.
This will be only an analysis of the basics, the core as it were, of each religion (at least the major ones), finding what is common and where the differences are. There will be no judgment whatsoever (explicit or implicit) of which is right or wrong.

There will be no hidden persuasion to follow one or the other. It will be purely informative.

At least this will help future generations of adults to take a more tolerant view of other persuasions.

Because those Gods were made up by men, Where as God (I am that I am) appeared to Moses, and all the prophets. Not to mention he also said any idols are false, and ain't allowed.
Also, the bible, Koran, and so many other spiritual media was inspired by God through his prophets... but I have a theory that God mentioned in these literature forms are all of the SAME God.

It also has to do with Ancient times and man not understanding Science would blame earthquakes, crops, floods, wars etc on Gods and their wishes to justify things they could not yet explain. That's My take on this...

I think that the various beings we call gods are all simply different representations or interpretations of a single creative force that's so far beyond the scope of the human mind that we need to sort of break it down into bits we can understand. If you pay close enough attention to the foundational beliefs of just about every religion, they're fairly close, with a little local color added in to make it easier to understand. The funny thing is, none of them espouse exclusion or violence, but rather preach that the path to acceptance, both into the religion and of the religion, lies with peace, harmony, and love.

God is God no matter what you choose to call it. Here is an example. A person can go by many names yet be the same person. They can go by their first name, their last name, Mom/Dad, Grandma/pa, Teacher, Friend, etc... That's 6 names for the same person. So no matter what you choose to call your God, it's still the same God, just with a different name. What's silly is how everyone is fighting over what to call the same God we all worship. To quote Shakespeare "A rose by any other name smells as sweet"

You have the cart before the horse.Man knew God.After the flood as he spread out through the earth,he forgot God and or got led away by false doctrines and as Paul says "Doctrines of Demons".Men began to uplift their heros to godhood.Such as with Nimrod .He was deified and became Baal.Even Shem the son of Noah was evolved into Hercules. That started in Egypt where they called him Sem(where we get the word Semite.
Flavius Josephus even says the "giant"creatures from the mixing of fallen angels and women became the Demi-Gods of Greek mythology(Ref. 'Antiqueties'by F. Josephus)
People were not nice to create these false Gods. Please read Romans 1 it is harsh and interesting on this subject.
It actually took God interacting with Abraham and Melchizedek,to get the train back on the track.

There is only one God. There are no others. He is the first, and He is the only. The figures that claim to be gods are false gods.

I believe that there's only one God. People just call it different things. Check out these lyrics below. Once we start to understand that we are ONE POWER the world will be a better place. And - there's no such thing as a "false God" - in my opinion.

One Power
by Daniel Nahmod

There’s One Power, invisible, and you see it everywhere and every day.
There’s One Power, indescribable, and you speak of it in every word you say.
Mysterious until you know the truth.
As simple as the love inside of you.

Call it God, call it Spirit, call it Jesus, call it Lord,
Call it Buddha, Bahá'u'lláh, Angel’s Wings or Heaven’s Door,
But whatever name you give it, it’s all One Power, can’t you see?
It’s the power of the love in you and me.

We speak so many languages, have different clothing, different colors, different names,
But different is only dangerous when we forget that in the heart we’re all the same.
And we’ll remember when we close our eyes to see
That such distances were never meant to be.

Call it God, call it Spirit, call it Jesus, call it Lord,
Call it Buddha, Bahá'u'lláh, Angel’s Wings or Heaven’s Door.
It’s Muhammed, it’s your mind, it’s your soul or it’s your sign,
It’s the Universe, it’s music, Mother Earth or Father Time,
But whatever name you give it, it’s all One Power, can’t you see?
Whatever name you give it, it’s the very air we breathe.
It’s the power of the love in you and me.

One Power. One Power. One Power.

It’s the moment of creation.
It’s an everlasting peace.
It’s the freedom of forgiveness.
It’s the sweetness of release.
It’s the joy of inspiration.
It’s the sunshine on your face.
It’s the birthright of all nations.
It’s the boundlessness of space.
It’s the beauty of a baby,
The serenity of sleep.
It’s the anger we abandon
For it’s love that’s most deep.
It’s One Power.
It’s the power of the love that lives forever in you and me.
It’s the power of the love in you and me.
