I hate crowds.

I prefer to sail in my direction.

Society is made up of a mass of people cooperating at various levels. Some, as you say, follow the crowd because it's easier/safer/faster, others are purely individuals; beating their own drum.

The most flexible members of society realise that the above extremes are limiting (too black and white) - that there are times when you need to be somewhere in between. They are the great leaders. They are able to listen to the contribution of others and absorb the right things from their environment and combine it with their developing skills, knowledge and understanding to change direction to best determine their own path through life.

I'm not going to tell you if I'm a sheep or a shepherd. Can you tell why?

Good luck

Hello UncleWayne,
I see that you're in the spiritual section so this must be a Biblical answer to be given, right?? Well, my friend, I don't believe that we should follow the crowd.According to the Truth the majority have always been wrong and will continue to. Just look at the examples in the Old Testament of how the religious people killed God's Prophets that were sent to them.Even into Jesus' time with our Lord being crucified and even his Apostles forsaking Him for a moment do to fear of the majority. During the Dark Ages the Major religion was the Catholic Church(as a so-called Christian religion) killed anyone that did not submit to her teachings.Ya know, the Inquisition, 2 Crusades and the Jesuits, led by the most popular assasin, Ignacius Layola(Loyala merimont College named from). As well as the religion of these end times through Ecumenism. A moshposh of socalled Christians compromising the Bible's teachings in the fleshly name of peace, love, and grace, which is ofcourse another spirit, Jesus, and gospel.2 Corinthians 11:1-4. And this leading into the One world religion and government to wit the Mark of the Beast will be decreed.Rev.13. Jesus said this:'YE ARE THEY WHICH JUSTIFY YOURSELVES BEFORE MEN, BUT GOD KNOWS YOUR HEARTS; FOR THAT WHICH IS HIGHLY ESTEEMED AMONG MEN IS AN ABOMINATION IN THE SIGHT OF GOD.' Luke 16:15. And it is also written in Galatians 1:6-9 that there are people that will distort the gospel of Christ, and make it another gospel. And by this they will be accursed. More reference texts are:Isaiah 8:20, Matthew 7:21-23,13-14, Psalm 118:8,146:3-4, but finally Proverbs 3:5-6 is what we are to do in order to be in His will and no without a shadow of a doubt that we will not fall by the way-side with the majority. It's not easy to stand alone. But when you know that you have God with you in all matters and you trust in His Word, then and only then He can show Himself that as you are faithful in believing, He can be faithful in showing Himself, that He is all that we'll need to follow.John 10:27-29, 14:6*.In His Love, Pastor B

I most definitely draw the line. To go with the crowd can lead to big trouble depending on the crowd. Besides, after a while you'll lose your sense of what YOU believe and who YOU are.

After I have committed a homicide and I am waiting outside the police tape to see how the inverstigators handle my work. I try and normally just blend in with the crowd as to not draw to much attention to myself. I think its the most natural thing to do.

I don't go with the crowd for the simple fact that most of the time, the "crowd" doesn't exactly do what I think is right, ethical or within my principles/religious beliefs

I can say from a young teenager I drew the line. Looking back I can see that whatever the mass/majority ran after, I went the other direction. Which is wisdom to follow today.

Always on the outer circle. In the 60s was a long haired surfer but never touched drugs and drank very sparingly. When they wanted me to go to officer training in the Army I chose to stay a non com Sgt.When my company wanted me to go into management ,I stayed a Supervisor to take care of the guys.Etc.I just couldn't trade my shorts and T-shirt for slacks and a tie.

You should never go with the crowd, because Jesus said you, christians are the light of the world, so you got to be an example for the nonbelievers. THis will relfect Christ as a true christian.
