I'm 15, I already had 2 hernia surgeries. I gained about 20 pounds with those two surgeries.

You would think 20 pounds is a bit too much, it's because the doctor said I had to stop all active activities, so no baseball, hockey, or any kinds of sports or workouts. It was 6 months since I even was able to play baseball again. Oh wow, I have no strenght left in me:S. How can I get back in shape?

I had a heria surgery about 1.5 years ago, so maybe I can give you perspective. Prior to the surgery (several years prior) I was a player on a Division 1 football team.

1. What you CAN'T do:
You can't do any exercise that puts your torso in a position to stabilize your frame. This means no pushups, no standing lifts of any kind and no squatting motions. You need to stick to exercises where your back is stabilized by a bench or a chair.

Test you lower abdominal strength by doing leg raises while lying on the floor. Place your hands under your butt and raise your legs slowly. If this is still painful, stop immediately and do not try again for several weeks (until pain subsides)

2. What you CAN do:
In addition to brisk walking on a treadmill or street, try this torso-friendly workout. Use light weights and do not push too hard. If you want to run, try joggin very slowly at first. The impact and pounding of running will jar your whole body and possibly reaggravate your injury.

CHEST
Bench Press 4 x 10
Incline Bench Press 4 x 10
Chest Flye Machine (in a seated position) 4 x 10

BACK
Row Machine (seated position) 4 x 10
Lat Pulldowns (seated position) 4 x 10
Closegrip Lat Pulldowns (seated position) 4 x 10

LEGS
Leg Extension Machine 4 x 10
Leg Curl Machine 4 x 10
Seated Calf Raises 4 x 10

SHOULDERS
Seated Dumbell MIlitary Press 4 x 10
Seated Side Raises 4 x 10
Reverse Flye (on a chest flye machine)

ARMS
Seated Preacher Curls 4 x 10
Seated Overhead Tricep Extensions 4 x 10

probably you should try BODYFLEX programme by Greer Childers.
it's based on breathing + physical exercises
those of my friends, who tried it, are really pleased with the results.
but you should do these exercises everyday! though it takes only about 15 mins
good luck!)
