Explain resolution re: comp monitor VS 1080p lcd-tv. Can a computer provide 1080p signal.. what card to get?

Yes, there are graphics cards that can provide 1080p resolution. make sure it also has a DVI output because some TVs don't accept 1080p signals over VGA.

Check Nvidia and ATI.
