YOU MUST FACE YOUR FEARS....I believe it was Emerson who said, "Do the thing you fear the most..than the death of fear is certain"..so true!!!

It could be a lot of things. Depression (which can cause anxiety), low self esteem, or even an irrational childhood fear. I think the best way to overcome a fear is to face the fear itself. You can do this a little at a time or hit it head on, (after all a fear wont kill you).

I used to teach swimming lessons. Some of the kids were afraid of the water. Some of them closed their eyes and leaped right in. Some went in slowly, a little at a time. Some took longer, staring at the water but refusing to get in. Finally, they would get up the nerve to jump in! My point is, you can do it the slow and easy way, or you can jump in and get it over with! Keep doing what you are afraid of and eventually it wont bother you anymore.

That is really something you and your therapist need to be working on together. This is not a question that can be properly addressed here.
It makes me wonder if you've experienced any trauma at night. Sexual abuse or any physical abuse? That would explain it. Continue seeing and discussing this with your therapist.

God Bless!
