I'm wondering when a dog really develops his habits and personality. My dog is a great dog, he doesn't bark and his disposition is super sweet and he's 11 months old. I'm thinking about getting another dog and I'm wondering if I should wait or is now a good time?

I'd say now is a good time if you want another dog. As dogs get older, they tend to have much less patience with puppies, but your dog at this age would still welcome a puppy to play with.

Have a read of this :

Character: This dog is intelligent, lively, and fearless. They focus entirely on their owner and are extremely affectionate. It has been said that a Yorkshire Terrier requires more human companionship and attention than any other breed.

Temperament: The Yorkshire Terrier can be territorial and likes to have their space respected. They are tolerant of older children if treated with care. The Yorkshire Terrier can also be somewhat independent and assertive. They get along well with other pets.

I own a Yorkie, named Tiki, male, who just turned 2 on Mothers Day. We bought a Chihuahua puppy, female, who was 4 months old then and named her Quila. When you put the two names together it comes out as Tequila (Tiki-Quila). I had to add that. Anyway, they LOVE each other. Since my Yorkie was just neutered before we got her, his personality changed to blahness. He lost the mischievous sparkle in his eyes. We felt awful about that. He had to be neutered because one of his testicles had not dropped and was told this could lead to problems in his later lifetime. Having Quila has brought him back to life. Since neither breed likes to be left alone, they are great company for each other. They love teasing and playing with each other. They sleep together, eat together, go in and out together, and chase each other all over and under and through wherever can fit, but in fast motion. (They are doing that right now!) They are so much fun to watch. If your Yorkie is at least 98% housetrained, now would be a good time to get another puppy. If not, then wait until he/she is because they are very challenging to train. Quila trained so much faster because she goes out whenever he does and got the hang of it from watching him. I thought 2 dogs would be harder to handle but the opposite is true. They are both very happy and so are we!

All terriers are aggressive. Just remember that the small breed terriers were ratters at one point in there working carriers, even though they are now bread as lap dogs their inherited nature is still in their bloodline. But these are small enough little stinkers that even the Cat can take'em on.

Now would be fine they get most of their persnality by the time they are about 3 months old.
If you don't have him fixed you might waht to do that first.
Good Luck

Nows the best time, it's harder when they are older. Have fun!
