Because despite your depression, you have to get out there and live. You still need to meet people. Once youre in control of it life will get easier. People who have depression recover more quickly if they have someone to talk to, and a partner is an ideal person to talk to. They do it because they love you, and being loved is a great esteem booster. Im not promising that a partner will be the great cure, because someone has to be pretty special to be able to deal with a depressed person and not everyone can handle it. They will tell you that when your depressed you go off sex as well. But thats not always true! It can be difficult meeting people, and you may kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince/ess, but it can and does happen.

Oh my God! Don't do this to yourself, in fact people who have depression feel so much better if they have a girl friend or married.
Everything changes, your whole outlook of life changes, simply because she is in your life, she will keep you busy, and you have something to look forward to, before you know, you will forget that you ever had a depression, you'll be surprised what love and marriage can do, to a person with your illness, in fact its a cure without the medicine, just give it a try, try falling in love if it does not help then you can always say bye bye, just don't make any commitment, find it out for yourself and let me know, I have my fingers crossed........Good Luck

You seem to be going around in circles. You're single because you're depressed; you're depressed because you're single. Clinical depression is no way to go. There are all sorts of treatments for this disease. If you had a viral infection or broke your leg, wouldn't you go to the doctor? Depression can be a simple chemical imbalance in the body, easily restored through the right foods and medications.
Personally, I can't imagine a life without love, without a partner or husband, without children. One of the vows people make at their weddings is to love, honor, and cherish each other "for better or for worse." True, these vows are not always kept, but as Shakespeare said: "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." I feel sorry for you and hope that you will do something to remedy your situation.

Depression isn't a choice that people make, and therefore they should not miss out on 'normal' life experiences. Caring potential partners would understand this. Maybe a loving relationship could also help the good times outweigh the bad, if they don't already. So yeah, I reckon you can.

I am on anti-depressants now, after my divorce I was extremely depressed. But I still long to have someone in my life. I think it is more than possible. Besides if you meet someone and they really love you they will help you through your depression. True love always understands and is tolerant to your needs in life. Don't give up!

I have battled depression all my life... And I am happily married. You just have to find the right one, who will understand. Also, the best thing that helps me to get through my depression is honestly a perscription for grass. Some states have it, and if medication doesnt help you sometimes you have to step out of the box. PS. Do it legally though....

As long as you find a supportive partner I don't see why not, Ive suffered from depression for sometime now, and thought the same until I met my wonderful boyfriend who seems to give my life a little boost... You've just got to be willing to be open to it.

I believe that severe depression only happens as one develops sexual maturity. The main theme in a depression is loving only one person and being rejected. I also believe when a bipolar person is in love with you, you can enjoy a slave\love relationship. Depression ends when expectations for love and life are real and accurate .
