I have a 7 month old Boxer, he's about 48lbs right now. He's tall, but very lean, definitely looks thin. We feed him Nutro's Natural Choice large breed puppy formula (dry food), but he doesn't seem to fill out at all. Is there anything else i can do to put some meat on his bones?

Yes worms can come back but you would notice if he had them again. Boxers just tend to be lean dogs. Feed him chicken even though people food isint very healthy. There are also special food that can make your dog heavier! Good Luck!

You might want to have the vet look for worms again, as if he had them very bad the first time there is a slight chance it could come back. However all of the dogs I've ever had were always thin as puppies and the minute they hit 'teen age' that is closer to being an adult but still a little on the puppy side, it depends on the type of dog but for boxers its normally about a year old maybe just under or just over. They suddenly fill out.
Think of a puppy as most of the kids in grade school, everyone is really skinny and thin and runs around all the time and yet eats everything in sight. Yet the minute they turn into teen agers and then adults they get much bigger suddenly and then fat if they over eat.
Look into the worms to be on the safe side but don't worry to much as it sounds just like how my tank of a boxer was.

We have a boxer named GIR he's awsome first know that boxers bulk up over the years when he was one to three he looked very thin and now that he's 6 he looks thicker..He could also have worms it's not a big deal just the shot from a vet but alot of times you don't even know they have them but you notice they have trouble gaining weight-all puppies are born with worms and even if they get the shot as a pup it sometimes takes a few times to competely rid him of them. You may also want to feed him Raw food or a dog food without corn in it dogs can't process corn but it is a cheap filler that really does'nt help them..Really the best thing you can do is let him eat a steak once in a while and remember as long as he's healthy he's fine!

He's at the gangley stage, all legs. He may have worms. A few signs of this are greyish gums, they should be pink. The coat tends to dull down also. If he had worms, he should have been dewormed once, then 10 days later to evict whatever hatched in the stomach lining. You should worm him every six months anyways.
To put weight on, if you are feeding him once a day, break it into 2 feedings. That way, his system can better digest the food and retain more.

Boxers are high energy lean athletes that tend to be lean. If he is eating, happy, and playful, then he may be OK. However, take him to the vet to make sure that he is not underweight, because of parasites or worms. The vet will be able to determine and treat fairly easily.
Don't feed him people food, and don't increase food, unless the vet tells you to. A lean dog will live longer than an overweight dog.

He doesn't sound too thin for 7 months. Boxers are kind of built that way. Your vet would definitely tell you if he was too thin. If he has already been neutered, you can switch him to a large breed ADULT food now. Make sure you have him on monthly heartworm preventative to prevent him from getting roundworms or hookworms (dogs should definitely have a stool sample checked at your vet once a year)

Maybe he has worms. Check his poop and make sure. If not, try feeding him more times a day. Buy some cheap chicken and beef, mix in dry dog food,Leftovers out of the fridge, boil it, than simmer. Stir while cooking. You could probably freeze the poritons afterwards.
Worms can come back if they weren't all killed with the first treatment. You should treat him again.

Yes...I would give wet food...at least two times a week...horsemeat or beef....buy gravy and put it on his food...cook things like chicken liver and gizzards...rice or mashed potatoes also put that in his dry food...also mix a raw egg in the wet food...bacon grease is good, too....sounds country but my grandparents raised two dogs...both lived for over 10 years...they were healthy and happy...ended up dying of old age....dogs will eat anything with a meat smell...more so beef anf pork than chicken.

DEON -
Why would you "cook things like chicken liver and gizzards"?
Dogs don't need cooked food. That's the equivalent of feeding a horse steak and french fries. You'd feed a dog mashed potatoes and gravy? Please remove your head from where it is and look around for a minute.
Take a look at the dogs diet. If it's on kibble, it's getting a lot of grain/corn/carbs and not a lot of good ingredients to feel full. The kibble clearly isn't working, so why continue?

boxers canlook like that but yes worms can reaccur.
I would take him to teh vets and have a good check up and a worm test.
It's better to be safe.
but worms if left untreated can kill. I haave my dogs checked for worms every 3 months.
