My niece graduated from college and we will be giving her $300 and carry-on luggage for traveling. Her brother graduated from high school and we will give him a wallet with $100.00 in it. The party is on a Saturday at 4:00p.m. It will be a BBQ. Are we suppose to bring any type of food, drink or dessert or are the gifts enough?

The gifts are enough unless the hostess has asked you to bring something in particular.

Call the host and ask. It is always thoughtful and appropriate to do so. Some people love to have others pitch in, some people like to show off and don't want to competition. Also, right before you leave to go to the party, call one more time to see if there are any last minute things they forgot and don't have time to go to the store for - then offer to pick them up on your way over.

It's always nice to bring a little food/dessert/drink, yes. If it is specifically asked for, then yeah you should. But if it is freely optional, you can choose not to. In all, it is a good idea to, just in case someone hasn't brought what is needed.
