"Enter through the narrow gate because the gate and road that lead to destruction are wide. Many enter through the wide gate."

"For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it."

Does this mean that the majority of people will end up in hell and that very few will make it to heaven?

There is only one right way - God's way of salvation; but many wrong ways.
Sadly, most people choose their own ways.

" We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him (Jesus)
the iniquity of us all."

Isaiah 53:6

People often ask me, "Which do you think will have more people: heaven or hell?" Jesus gave the answer in Matthew 7:13‑14. In the Old Testament, there was always a remnant of believing people. The one time in God's redemptive history that will be unique is the Tribulation. According to Revelation 7, there will be an innumerable multitude of Gentiles redeemed out of every nation, language, and people (v. 9). There will also be redeemed people from the nation of Israel (vv. 4‑8; Rom. 11:26). There will be a massive response to the gospel during the Tribulation. Many people will respond to Christ. But for this age, the response to Christ is small because men would rather hold onto their own sin. Jesus said that men love their darkness (Jn. 3:19)

Jesus made many tough comments like this. Some are very hard to swallow. Take "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven." It would be a laughable image if we Americans were not so rich and so focused on material things. But that isn't really Jesus' point. He wasn't bashing the rich. He was responding to the rich young man who had lost heart when Jesus told him to give up his lifestyle to become a follower. The young guy wouldn't give away all his stuff to follow Jesus. In other words, his heart wasn't right. Those who are rich are usually in love with their money and will find it very hard to place God in a higher priority.

Jesus was saying that your heart, your devotion must be fully committed to him. The gate is very small not because few people know the truth; it is small because few are willing to give their undivided devotion to the pursuit of God's will over all else. And yes, those who are not devoted to God will end up in hell no matter how much "good" they do because as humans, nothing good we do can make up for how much we have screwed up.

No, that is not a Salvation Scripture.

This narrow gate that Leads to Life is the gate to Walking in Holiness.

Walking in Holiness Leads to LIFE!
This is the Upmost of what a Child of GOD can do while still on this Earth at this time.

Other than that, your just a Born-Again Child of GOD on your Way to Heaven.

The EASIEST thing for a Human Being to do is to GET SAVED.
At this time, all you gotta do is Romans 10:9 and your On your Way to Heaven!!!

Now, Walking in Holiness, where all of the Miracles, Signs and Wonders follow you around--- is harder and NARROWER to walk in.

You have to give up alot of things and pray and read the Bible ALOT to
WALK in HOLINESS.
Holiness is a very narrow path to walk on.

But, if you fall off of it, YOUR still On your Way to Heaven!!!
(with Less Rewards of course!)
Ditto..........

The Spirit of truth says not necessarily. If one leaves this life without making a firm decision they will make a very unpleasant trip to hell until they make up their mind. They miss out on all the benefits that could have been theirs if they had chosen sooner. Just returning to the same place in heaven that you started from means you wasted your opportunity in this life. Those who stay in hell chose it because they rejected the love of God.

it means if you've got just ten groceries, take the 10 items or less lane in the grocery store.
and to those that have more groceries, they get in the more than 10 line.

however, if you are in a hurry, lighten your load.
it all depends on how much groceries you want to pay for.
...

actually, when Jesus said, "few there be that find it"... i believe he was talking in what was present at the time.... because the way it is now... many people are finding the narrow path.

YES!!! Look around you, the world is falling to pieces.. sin is all around us....

God made it very clear, the gate is narrow and I think there are so many "lukewarm" Christians out there that are not going to heaven!

Anyone out there a "lukewarm Christian"? Attending church every week or so, secure in your Salvation and life in Heaven for eternity. When is the last time you laid down your life for a fellow Christian? Or for that matter anyone but yourself? Are you in God's Word daily, searching Him? Are you; Seeking Him, Submitting to Him, Denying yourself in His service, Serving in His name, Suffering in His name, Sacrificing for Him, Sharing? If you answer no to any of these you may want to search yourself and the scriptures and decide are you going to remain a "lukewarm Christian" or are you going to start stocking up those rewards in Heaven?

Kinda.
Look how many survived the Flood of Noah.
The earth was full, so that had to be billions killed. Only Noah's family of 8 survived.

The ratio will be wide like that also when the time comes.

Partially.

It mainly means that God may require things of us that seem difficult, in our walk with Him. He always makes a way, He gives us strength, and so on. But, some things appear hard to walk out. The requirement may be high. But, if it is God's requirement or command, it will always be the better way. The easy way may not be so good.

Yep. Even most Christians won't make it. They think all they have to do is believe but their own book says different,

Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels

Because they did NOT feed tho poor or house the homeless or any of the things they are supposed to do.
