I have ventured beyond the 'veil' whilst still ( officially at least ) remaining resident in the Mk. 7468 English/Celtic male, slightly adventurous, definitely over-active, homo sapiens sapiens, soft-top body.
It is almost impossible to describe in linguistic terms, and I am quite sure that it is, by any definition 'Heaven'. It's not at all like the 'physical realm', it has some major advantages, but this place isn't too shabby either.
Mostly I believe that we 'go on' to whatever we believe we will encounter, when we drop these monkey suits, so if 'Heaven' is your ideal concept, and you consider that your behaviour here has warranted it, that's probably 'where' you'll find yourself. If you think that you've been a total rats-*ss, and deserve to fry for all eternity, then you may well imagine that that will be your 'fate'. So my advice to anyone is to be very careful what you imagine for the next stage of your existence.
Are 'lost' loved ones still here ? Well yes and no, physically obviously not, and they are unable to interact physically either, but they can be re-called to our 'presence' any time we wish, just by thinking of them. Their energy is not restricted by any of the constraints of the physical realm, no 'time' no 'space' and no 'singularity' of manifestation, thus they can be anywhere, anytime, and be everywhere else as well.
Neat trick, eh ? And that's just the beginning ..... ;-)))

I'm think that IF there is an afterlife, then the spirits/soul of people probably go, or stay, where THEY want. For people to go to heaven they have to want to.
I don't believe the Abrahamic concept of heaven will apply to me. I'm inclined to believe that I will experience an afterlife which is a temporary resting place, out of time, before re-incarnation.
Most, if not all the attributes we associate with those who have passed on are seen as static, and passive. Their physicality, such as their body, or objects they "owned" are no longer are animated by the persons spirit.
Unless you can INTERACT with them, it's impossible to say their spirit is still around.

The bible specifically states that the heaven is at hand. That means that we are in heaven right now. Jesus said after he died to his disciples that where he was going they could not go. They had a work to do. It is only those who are righteous in GODS eyes that go directly to heaven body and soul. If you are such a perfect person inside and out then you will be rewarded in such a way that you will be able to see HIM face to face. But not until. That may be your friend/lover/spouse here on earth. would that suffice? There are people that believe that there are lost souls out there that are just floating around in limbo and not going anywhere spiritually not in heaven and not in hell. so if your life on this earth has been questionable then you may or may nor get into heaven. But if you have a pure heart your spirit will die with you and you will be at peace and it will show in your face when you die and where you die and it depends on how you died. If you were murdered and you were innocent then your spirit will go back to GOD. but...if you died of natural causes and you were at peace with yourself with a smile on your face then you will surely know that you were a child of GOD and you will rest in peace. And if HE decides to take you up into heaven while you still live then you are extra special indeed. Does that answer your question? I hope so.

Yes, I do believe that the people that have died are around us at times...I for one have seen examples of this...and at the time I was very disturbed with what I saw...and No I don't drink or do anything else...and as a RN I have experienced it in the Hospitals I have worked in...Yes they die, their body is gone, but that loved one is still here...I have seen many strange things that couldn't be explained by anyone...and yes I do believe in Heaven..

By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
My sister some bibles say Enoch was "translated" instead of "taken" I prefer the term "translated" because it means that Enoch, like all departed souls, moved through time and space so rapidly that the next thing that they experience is heaven or hell. Enoch skipped the death part and moved straight to the translation.
However when a person dies the physical body knows nothing and does nothing until it's resurrected, transformed and reunited with the soul for heaven or hell. They do not hang around for better or for worst.

Yes our loved ones are around us especially if we are having problem. And they try to help. I know that for a fact because I have seen and spoke to them, they are definitely not laying in a grave. The minute they take their last breath the silver cord that connects them to the body is severed. Only then do they pass into the next world where family and friends are waiting for them. Try to believe that also all the pain they suffered here is gone.I have been with people as they are dying and their loved ones come to get them. I have also listened to one sided conversations.

i don't know about you but i for one believe in heaven. in my family we have something like ESP and we can tell when one of us is sick or need a phone call. i lost ed my sister and her husband 10 yr. ago. when i lost ed my father 6 yr. ago before my father died he said to me Susie and AL are taking me home. and then he had a stroke and while we waited for his heart to stop his brain was gone they told me. then as we were sitting with him he sits up and reaches for the sky and says momma i am coming momma smiles and then he is gone. so he saw something and he had visitors before he left this earth. and the ones that came and talk to him was the love one in our life. so you tell me i know my sister still talks to me when i am going thought a bad time i see a sign like a rainbow where there should not be one. or her flower she love black eye Susie's. or her name will come up on a TV show or in a book. when i looking for help next thing i know i have a Susi or a AL or a john helping me. i always know were this is coming from. so for me i know there is a heaven. i feel sorry for you if you don't. what the use of life with out knowing it will keep on going and that you will see your love one again.

As a Muslim, I believe in Heaven. This life is basically a test, in which God will judge us based on our deeds and beliefs in this life.
The people that we've lost are in their graves, but there is a life in the grave. For some, it's good and for others its painful, depending on how they lived their lives. On the day of judgement, we'll each be resurrected and judged, then sent to where we belong (heaven or hell).
