I've answered this many times on Yahoo, go to the Guitar Center nearest you, there are many in New Jersey, I just bought an acoustic guitar there a couple of months ago, I play classical guitar and wanted to try acoustic for a while, they have a large selection. Yamaha has a nice one and so does Gibson, Taylor, and Fender. My advice to you is to go there and play them, no one can tell you what's going to feel right to your ear and fit right into your hands and fingers you have to play them to see the type of action is good for you. Tell one of the clerks what your looking for, style, price range and he'll show you quite a selection, they have a lot of little rooms where you can fool around with them, don't select to quickley pick the one you like and keep trying all the others, they all are quite different. The one that I bought sounded nice in the store but when I got it home after two weeks I decided that I didn't like the sound, so I took it back and they gladly let me pick another one, it was half the price of the original one that I bought but had a better sound, weird right, you never know with guitars. Sometimes price doesn't always indicate if your going to like it or not, sometimes the less expensive one will sound better to your ear, that's why I said to make sure, play with them all, it took me a couple of hours to decide, so take your time, and good luck to you. If you live near Cherry Hill there's a Guitar Center there.

In New York, and New Jersey? There a million music stores in that area. Best thing to do is to get a copy of the Yellow Pages and find several shops that are near you. Go to each one and play different guitars. If you aren't comfortable playing them, bring a friend.
I could tell you the brand names of several good guitars, but that doesn't mean that those guitars are going to be the kind that you like, or that they will fit into your budget. Thats why you need to go there yourself.
