Well, it's definitely the most profane book anywhere near my house. It's got more killing than all of my horror flicks combined, and more sex than all of my wife's chick flicks too. Not regular sex... nasty, get down with your sleeping relative sex. Sex with your neighbors wife. Sex with brothers and sisters, brother's wives, and virgins that you took prisoner and made into servants/slaves. I haven't even gotten to that Jesus fella telling you to take up a sword for him, cut off your own body parts, and hate everyone and everything on earth.
This is easily the most disgusting book anyone has ever brought home and shared with their family.

TO THE CONTRARY! I think that the Bible has some horrifying stories in it BUT there is a lesson to be learned by ALL of the stories. But, like everything else in life you can learn from the stories or just read them so that you can have a reason to argue with believers. Regardless of your feelings about God or Christianity you have to admit that the Bible is a good morale example for everyone. Everyone seems to think that God and Christianity are all about everyone having a smile on their face all of the time, with only positive things to say & do and that everyhting has to be perfect all the time. That's not the case. The Bible is full of sad and disturbing stories because that's the only way God can get through to us. We all think that were so much smarter than him and we just don't get it. Yes, it would be an ideal World if we could take everything negative out of it. That is what makes the Bible so great, though. This nasty, ugly World isn't the end all. Our eternal life with God is!!!!!!

China is thinking of banning Christians from the Olympics. They do not like the criticism of limiting people to only 1 child and aborting the rest so they are putting priests and Bishops in prison faster than anything. They are afraid people will protest in the streets.

If Hollywood made a movie based on the bible today, it would seriously get an NC-17. They'd get Eli Roth, Takashi Miike or Wes Craven to direct it.
Seriously!

The Bible does mention many incidents of sin in it's pages. It was given to show man the error of his ways and the price for making those errors. It's purpose was to enlighten, however, not be indecent, and therein is the difference.

Hmmm... gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "Bible-thumping", doesn't it?
Actually, never mind--that's not an image I'd prefer to have in my mind the rest of the day...

I think you're about 4-5 weeks behind the times (ok, maybe a slight exaggeration there, but not by much, if at all).

hey it's only fair.
if it was any book other than the bible that contained all the killing and sex and whatnot, it would be banned in a heartbeat.

Yeah it is fair. It is an evil book and it should not be protected because it is religious.
