Look up any homebrew supply store in your area at http://www.beertown.org. Do not buy your equipment at Home Dept or Bed Bath and Beyond.

After your initial purchase of the equipment, it will cost less to make the beer than it will to buy it.

Beer is cheap, so you can't save as much making beer as you can save making wine.

Initially you have to get equipment, so it costs as much or more to begin with because of that.

Home Depot is a building supply house, not a wine making shop. They also don't sell beer.

It's best to start by using kits. If you like it you can learn how to make your own beer from scratch and save more over the cost of kits.

You can buy supplies and kits from a local winemaking store which you find in your phone book under winemaking. You can also buy supplies and kits online and there are some links below to give you a start.

You'll need basic supplies and some kits and bottles.
You CAN save some money by saving your soft drink plastic bottles and using them.

People usually make beer to get a better beer, not necessarily to save lots of money.
