honestly speaking,it is funny thing to hear.
There is no prohibition in the New Testament regarding the color of clothes that a Christian should wear. It is the style and the manner of clothing that is being modified by the Christian doctrine.
(1 Timothy 2:9-10) “In the same way also, I desire that women adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sensibleness, not adorned with braiding, or gold, or pearls, or costly clothing , but with good works, which becomes women professing godliness.”
Christians, especially women, must be found blameless in their practice of holiness, ‘perfect holiness’ that is.
(2 Corinthians 7:1) “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
(1 Thessalonians 3:13) “To the end he may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.”
"THE MANNER BY WHICH SOMEONE DRESSES MAY AWAKEN THE LUST OF THE FLESH AND THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER!"
There are those that profess to be Christians, but are unmindful if their manner of dressing entices the eyes of the beholder. In 1 John 2:15-16, it states:
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
The manner by which someone dresses himself or herself up may awaken the lust of the flesh and the eyes of the beholder! This is the manner of the world. We must not conform nor love it.
(Romans 12:2) “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
In the olden days of Israel, the first nation that served God, even the texture of the clothes to be worn is disciplined by God’s wisdom.
(Leviticus 19:19) “Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle engender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee.

I've been a Christian all my life, and have never heard of a prohibition on wearing red. In fact, on Pentecost Sunday, we're often asked to wear red clothing to church to symbolize the flames seen at the original feast of Pentecost as described in the Bible (that may just be a local practice, though, but I know of several denominations that do it here).

I have some clothing in red the only time you should not wear bright red is at a job interview because it symbolizes power and authority. Maybe that was an old testament law that had happened. Thank you for posting.

What bible did you get that from?
Pentecost is when Peter was preaching and the Holy Spirit came down to the people. Pentecost is very special because the Holy Spirit still lives in us today, we believe in Jesus Christ. The color of Pentecost is red. Red stands for the power and "fire" of the Holy Spirit.

I don't know where the Bible says that. the color red means a lot of things. it's a symbol..however, that doesn't mean we can't wear it. it's just a color. a color that i like actually..but yeah, that's not the point.

I'm sorry.
I've read a number of translations of the bible. I don't recall coming across red as signifying sin in any of them.
God asked for many red items for the Holy of Holies. I think you are confused. (Book of Exodus)
Are you sure you're not thinking of The Scarlet Letter??
We wear red all the time.
Ah. I found it. You are indeed confused.
Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."
Notice the word LIKE. Like scarlet. As in they stand out! Not that the color means sin.

i am a Christian. we do not prohibit wearing red clothes. if anything, red often represents the blood of Christ that saved us from our sins. you could look at it that way and it'd just b a reminder of His love for us :)

Well, that's the first time I've been told I'm not allowed to wear red. I don't think that statement is true. And if it is, it's centuries outdated.
