well I went on a walk with her, and about 100 yards from my house, she stopped and laid down. after much coaxing (to no avail), I had to pick her up and carry her to my house (which wouldnt be so bad if she wern't a great dane). anyway, I've sprayed her down with water but she is still kinda laying there. its been about 2-3 hours now. please help....

It depends how long you were walk in for. I know a Husky/Shepherd/Mastiff who does this to his owner ALL the time. He will lay down in a ditch, in the middle of the road, just about anywhere he feels like. Since he weighs over 100 lbs. he has the advantage over his owner. He also does the same thing when he gets home, just goes to lay down and won't get up. Usually this is after a hard workout, or if its been really hot. I find it really has a bad effect on the bigger dogs. If you are really still concerned, I would take her to the vet just to make sure, but I don't think anything is really wrong with her.

You didn't give enough details for anyone to give you an intelligent answer here.
You're going to have to get her to a vet. It could be any number of things!
Did she hurt a leg? Did she pass out or is she still awake? Is she breathing Ok? Seizures or struggling?
No matter what, if she can't get up, get her to a vet NOW.

try to get her to a vet. if she can't get to the car, check in the phone book if you have a mobile vet that will drive to your house and look at her.

If her condition is getting worse or not getting any better then she may need veterinary attention. Call your vet to see if you need to take her in.
