Do you think the PS3 is worth buying?

Yes, for many reasons
here they are

-Ps3 can browse online
-ps3 comes with built in wifi ~ xbox 360 or 360 elite don't
-Ps3 has a 60 GB interchangeable hard drive, meaning you can change your hard drive with any brand of hard drive 360 or 360 elite don't.
-ps3 online is free ~ xbox live isn't
-Playstation home is an interactive community of ps3 users where you can play games or meet up with friends and hang out at your virtual home and hang outs, as well as stream live media(releasing in october, and is FREE)
-Ps3 can get Linux and other OS's installed ~ xbox 360 cant
-ps3 comes with a next generation disc format (blu ray-50 gigs, xbox 360 and 360 elite are only compatable with 7 GB DVDs for games, and if you're willing to pay an extra $200 you can watch ONLY movies on hd dvd,which can only hold 30 GB)
-ps3 has HDMI 1.3, 360 elite only has hdmi 1.2
-ps3 has the Cell Broadband processor which consists of 8 simutaniously working cpu's capable of processing 2 trillion calculations per second(2 TFLOPS)
-ps3 has the best graphics with the NVIDIA RSX Graphics Processor
-Ps3 is only $600 and is supposed to drop to $500 by october, 360 elite costs 500 and lacks wifi, a next gen disc format, and still has that huge power brick)

Tons of ps3 games are being released this year. Over 40 of them are exclusive for just and only ps3, and over 200 shared titles.

I own a PS3 60 GB and it was worth it. 360 isn't as good. Blieve me you'll love the PS3. I have also installed yellow Dog Linux on my PS3 and it's pretty darn cool. The only draw back to me was I had a 64MB game card for PS2 to transfer all my games saves over to the PS3.Well the PS3 would not take my aftermarket card. So had to borrow a friends 8MB card and break mine up into pieces. But I have a 360 also and believe me the graphics are WAY better on the PS3. Some people will be talking about the game selection (HELLO 360 HAS BEEN OUT FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS). Also they will say look at the money savings (ADD YOUR HD DVD DRIVE TO YOUR 360 FOR ANOTHER $200) If it were me skip the 360 and go out and get you a PS3 don't forget to buy an extra controller. I bought an extra controller and have it charging while playing with my other one. Yeah you don't have to buy batteries for the controllers like the WII and 360. Wii's are okay for the budget minded gamer 360's are for the average gamer PS3 are for the hardcore gamer YES I OWN ALL THREE!!!!!!

I've heard of a lot of bashing on this subject and really. It matters on what kind of gamer you are. Now i can go on and on about how the PS3 has problems ,but doesnt every system? Wow the PS3 has no good games right now, well the Xbox 360 had over 80% of its products diffective. I kinda like hte PS3 in a way. Playstation has always came out of dark areas. I think if you let it develope over time it will delivier some great games. The only thing that makes me cringe is the price. But then you have to break it down. This thing is stock with a High Def Drive (or BlueRay) On the 360 you have to buy a $200 box just to watch something in hi def! Thats what makes the Ps3 so expensive! Its already got all hte goodies built in. Its also got a web browser just like its little brother PSP. I love that feature because you can acess it so easily! Well i say if you like what Sony has done in the past go for it. But i would wait for a price drop which i heard is comeing. I hope i helped you out. =)

Well I was thinking buy PS3 for myself. I do NOT like the games @ all for PS3. The only reason why I am buying PS3 is because of Blu-Ray. And thats about it.

Yes, it is worth every penny you spend. The games are awesome and the blue ray disc technology and features have no competition. If you are thinking of buying a PS3, go for it. You won't regret it.

I think so now. With the latest firmware update and the ability to upscale your PS and PS2 games (as well as DVD movies), it's a good overall package. And some good PS3 games are on the horizon as well.
