this was a year ago and i'm laughing because this whole time i thought he said 'i love you' but really, could he have said 'i'll call you'??

neither of us are fluent so it just sounded like 'tay yamo'

If he said TE AMO, that means that he loves you. I don't think he was mistaken. TE LLAMO? Do you really think he meant that he will call you back? Good luck.

Yes, there is a possibility that he said

I'll call you.

As neither of you were fluent in Spanish maybe he pronounced it in a funny way and you misunderstood.

But who knows?

he may have said: Me llamo... which means "My name is..." in spanish.

OMG Don't lie, my original tongue: Spanish, I talk it all the time, you are lying. llamo and amo sounds SOOOOOOOO WAY DIFFERENT!
