Burt and Ernie have always been gay. This is social conditioning to make it seem the same as opposite sex couples to children. I don't know about Big Bird being high though, that I do not recall.

Big Bird could have been high, he had all the signs. As far as Burt and Ernie - NO WAY - they are both bachelors because they had never met anyone who was interested in either one of them. But they are not gay, not at all. Many times bachelors get this rep, but in their case it is not true.

no I think the cookie monster was always high..he always had some serious munchies...I don't think burt and ernie was but I Find it werid that they shared a room and ernie has a funny obession with a rubber duck! Humm!

Yes. Homosexuality and drug use is the main reason Sesame Street has been the most respected children's show for about three decades.
Bert and Ernie, like all the puppets and monsters, were asexual. Sexuality just wasn't a factor in who they are.

I don't know if Big Bird was always high, but Bert and Ernie are definately gay! And Elmo is a tweeker!!!!!

I really could care less if they were all gay and high. They have kept my 3 year old entertained many many times. I'm thankful for that :)
