If Jesus had died by the electric chair, would you wear a charm of Jesus in the chair around your neck?

Not only that but an incorrect one. The Romans used a T or an X and didn't use the lowercase t until much much later.

The cross symbolizes the sacrifice that Christ made for me. I've earned the punishment of death on the cross, do to sin, but He took the punishment for me. It's much the same as wearing an electric chair around your neck.

He is the perfect sacrifice. If Jesus had died in an electric chair, I'd view that chair much as I do the cross.

As I noted yesterday to a similar question, one of His many gifts. It's offered, but you have to accept it.

Clearly you are not Christian or understand the meaning of the cross. Yes, the cross was the instument of death practiced by the Romans. But for Christians it is a reminder of 2 things. 1. It reminds Christians of God's great love for us that Jesus sacrificed his life freely for us. And 2. it was through his death and resurrection that salvation was offered to the Jew and gentile (non-Jew). That's why we wear the cross to remind ourselves of how good a God we have. And yes, I'm sure if he we're killed by another method we would remember that too.

Interesting point... The most feared form of torture and death two thousand years ago as the symbol for a religion preaching peace, love, and hope. The cross was meant for the worst of criminals. Murderers, repeat offenders, criminals with crimes against the state. Christianity was meant for the worst of criminals as well. Even the worst among us can be called righteous in God's sight.

On the Christian cross Jesus is off it. It doesn't signify death, but Life. For Jesus is risen, alive, and coming again soon. The empty tomb symbilizes that as well. But without the cross, there'd be no empty tomb.

Yes it is in a way quite eccentric to see happy-go-lucky born again Christians wearing such a morbid object around their necks.

I have always found this interesting. I would think that christians would want to remember his life and the good he did. I realize it's because of the believed sacrifice, but is that really what you would want to see if you came back???

(BTW, I am not a christian and I heard some of that from a comedian)

Maybe you should try Mormonism, they celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, not his death.

You have it exactly wrong.

The cross is an anti-death symbol.
