teaching a musical theatre class. main focus is dance and acting. no singing. need a fun activity for 7-12 yr olds.

I would say to look at shows that have children in them and take inspiration from that. Hard Knock Life is full of opportunities to do 'normal' activities, but in dance mode like cleaning, etc. Be Our Guest, as well. You could do Look At Him from Honk and they'd have to be animals. Songs from Peter Pan would be good inspiration too.

As a side note, I don't see how you can teach a musical theatre class and not have singing be part of it. In most musical theatre auditions, you must sing before you do anything else. If that's not your expertise, consider bringing someone in to do that part of it. They really should sing as a big part of any class called musical theatre. Maybe you already have someone else handling this :-)

Well, I'd like to know how you plan on teaching a musical theatre class without singing. What you could do is choregraph dances to some of the more popular Broadway songs and try to link it together with lines in the middle, creating a plot.
