Ive been on 75 mg for like a year, then 100mg for a couple months. I eat very healthily, and excersize daily, and i used to be able to eat anything and exercize less and i was much skinnier!

I am a 16 yr old femals. 5' 7" 136 lbs

Go see your prescribing doctor. And never ever stop cold turkey as with these medications it is best to taper off.

There are other antidepressants that do not cause weight gain so talk about your options. And at 16 know that some weight gain is normal and your height and weight as listed is perfectly normal.

And just as a side note 16 is one of the hardest ages - once you survive being a teen life gets a lot better. You will be broke, but happier! lol.

Yes it can cause wieght gain. But you sound like you are a healthy wieght so I would not worry. Your body is changing too and that might have something to so with it. At 17 I gained weight and I lost it a year after it.

Yes. If your weight gain gets to the point where it worries you a great deal, you should talk to your doctor about stopping it. Never stop taking medications on your own.

I've never heard that it does but I'm going to ask my Dr. the next time I go to an appt.

My kid is on Zoloft and her friend teases her that her "gut" sticks out!
My Daughter is thin.

As a one time Zoloft user, I can tell you I did put on some weight. Also, you should know it can act as a sedative.

it does cause terrible weight gain but you are in the normal weight range right now so no worries.
