Because Jesus saves.
Through... repeatable experiments... done on test groups... with... medically applicable results.
God works in unobservable ways.

I dispute the notion that this is a Christian nation. If this were a Christian nation the favorite pastimes would not include pointing fingers and casting stones. Sorry, this society is far too judgmental to call itself Christian.
And yes, I get the irony of me being judgmental in calling this society judgmental. But truth is truth.

This brings to mind something I heard from a preacher once a very long time ago.
"Pray like it all depends on god, but plan like it all depends on you"
It harks back to the story of the guy who is caught in a flood and a guy in a jeep drives up, asking if he wants a ride. The man replies "no thank you, god will save me." A little while later, the water rises and a man in a boat pulls up asking if he wants a ride. Again the man answers "no thanks, god will save me." A few hours later, the water is so high that the man is sitting on the roof of his house and a helicopter comes and the driver asks the man if he wants a ride. The man again replies that god will save him. The man dies and goes to heaven. When he gets there he asks god why he didn't save him. God's reply was "I sent you a car, a boat, and a helicopter, why didn't you get into any of them?"

That is a good question I've never thought of before. Probably because they are trying to save them before it's too late, and hospitals have the tools needed to help the dying person.

A Christian does not have the miraculous power of healing, no one does.
The hospital is where the doctors are located that have been given the knowledge to cure many human ailments.

Excellent point! I move that all dying religious fundamentalists should heretofore be taken to their respective churches instead of hospitals. Can I get an amen?

When my mom had her heart surgery, it was done at a Catholic hospital - not because she's Catholic, (she's a Deist), but because they have the best surgical team in the area. Trust me, it was a lot like church. The nurses invoked God every chance they got. After surgery my mom couldn't move well and she said "oh, damn it!" The nurse chastised her for it!!

Because you don't have to be in a church to be connected with God, but you do have to be in a hospital to be seen by a dr.

What would a church do with them? You can bring religion to someone on their deathbed in the hospital. You can't bring the hospital, and the remote possibility of saving them, to a church. That doesn't make any sense.

¬This is not a christian nation. This is a free nation. We are granted religious freedom through the constitution.

A great question if I do say so. Don't worry I'm sure that some answers will be very silly and others will be similar to circular reasoning.
