depends on where you want to move to, what you can do for work once you're there, and what kind of lifestyle you want to have...
i think $10,000 would get you a plane ticket to mexico and room and board for a good month and a half, if that's what you're looking to do--vacation for a while.
that much could set you up in a small midwestern town for a whole lot longer too! you could probably get a place to rent for like $600 a month... it's totally doable, and part of me wishes i would have just taken off for a while at one point in my life...
good luck wherever you end up! :)

It really depends on the lifestyle you live, but in general I'd say, not very far.
To start a new life you'd need a new job in a new city, that means rent, deposits etc, then you'd have to find a new job. That might take a while. Ten grand is a big chunk of money, but compare it to your current income? Is it the equivalent of 3-6 months salary? If not, save a while longer before burning bridges behind you.

Maybe 3-4 months depending on where you go and what kind of lifestyle you want to live. That amount might be enough if you had a few decent job offers in a particular area.

If you live very modestly and find a really cheap apartment that is not in a very bad part of town, about 6-10 months.
