¬Because it is related to Religion and Spirituality. The Christians dont have a christian section. The muslims dont have a musslim section, the jews dont have a jewish section. the pagans dont have a pagan section. Why should athiests get special treatment?

That would be fantastic so that the Christians will stop asking us why we're here. However then we would have to have an Agnostic section, too... Where does it end?

Really though, this isn't the "Religious and Spiritual" Section. That would imply that it is for "Religious" and "Spiritual" people only. This is, however, the "Religion and Spirituality" Section meaning it is a place to discuss religion and spirituality, which is what we are doing regardless of our beliefs (or lack thereof).

What's the point of having a section where everyone agrees with all the opinions presented? It's like having a conversation with yourself....boring and self-defeating. Besides, I think having atheists here in R&S is perfectly acceptable. We all need to remember that not everyone sees the world the same way.

Because Open minded Atheists are looked down apon in a society pushing the crutch of Religion. People here at work call me a pagen but I keep my mouth shut and let them believe what they want. It is The land of freedom to believe what you want no matter how wacky.

Well considering this is a Question and Answer forum and not a chat room... I don't see why we need our own section to discuss Religion & Spirituality...

They don't need one. Atheism, like the first poster said, falls under the R&S category.

The news media never even mentions the word, atheist. So, Yahoo's not that bad.

Because it falls under the R&S category... The conversations wouldn't be as fun if each belief had it's own forum.

The people who don't believe in unicorns don't have a "I don't believe in unicorns" section either. Bummer isn't it. Hey, what about the "I don't believe in mermaids" section!!! Come on folks!
