I've heard a couple people talking about praying to THEIR Patron Saint. Now I heard the same thing on my coworker’s radio. How do I find out who my Patron Saint is?

Well if you're catholic then your parents may have given you a different name, a Christian one, after a certain saint and that would be your patron saint. If you don't have a saint that shares your name and you really want one, check out the date you were born and who the patron saint is of that day. Or the patron saint of your profession. Seriously, there's a patron saint of pretty much anything you can think of, so you should have no trouble finding one. There are many patron saints, for just about any circustance. There are the Saints who you are named after, then there are patorns of whatever job you have, the saints for you country, the saints for those with sicknesses, like cancer, diabetes, etc. and thern there are saint whose feast day you were born on.

For Example, Mary and her cousin Elizabeth are my name saints. As an American, the Vigin of Guadalupe is my Patron. I chose Anthony for my Confirmation, and my birthday is on St Feacre's Feast day. (I spent about 5-10 min on google and was unable to find a patron of receptionists)

Usually your Patron Saint is the Saint whose name you took with your Confirmation. Many people who have a certain problem or disease use the Patron Saint of that particular problem to pray to. I am thinking that once they Canonize Pope John Paul II he will be the Patron Saint of those with Parkinson's Disease

Many people say that your patron the saint whose name is closest to yours (for instance, if your name is Cathy, you might choose one of the many St. Catherines), or whose feast day falls on or near your birthday. However, many people opt to select a saint whose life and deeds are meaningful to them personally. That's what I did. I picked someone whose life inspired me and made me feel closer to God.

Here is a list of some of the many patron saints you can select from:
